It doesn't get better than this!

Hoopoe seasonal shared and private tented camps are completely new and have just served their first season. Larger tents, improved solar, solar freezers and refrigerators, new style loos. Behind the scenes three new DAF trucks were bought to support the camps and the all important seasonal changes in location as the annual migration moves we move!

Brand New Safari Fleet

Hoopoe has one of the most up to date and new custom built safari vehicle fleets in Northern Tanzania.
While retaining some Toyota Land-Cruisers , the majority of the fleet is now brand new Land-Rover, The Land-rover wins hands down on comfort and handles wet conditions the best and is less inclined to get stuck in the mud.

Drive Guide Training Courses

One of the most important elements in a successful safari is the guide.

The annual course was held in May and a refresher will be held in early December.
Peter Lindstrom organises the courses, which include classwork and field work. A guest lecturer or two assist & drawn from the research field.
